The 30 books, new and backlist titles, I plan to read in 2024

There’s nothing I love more than brainstorming and building my 30 book TBR to guide and influence my reading for the next calendar year. The successes have continued since the inception of my 30 book TBR in 2021, so I don’t see this style TBR going anywhere!
Similar to years passed, I selected 5 themes with 6 titles in each category with emphasis on authors of color, which are represented in each category at least once, but on average, make 2-3 appearances per section. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the diversity and inclusion this TBR represents and am so excited to read from tried and true favorites (Riley Sager, Simone St. James, Emily Henry, Fredrik Backman) while exploring new-to-me authors with critical acclaim (R.F. Kuang, Tommy Orange, Octavia E. Butler, Stephen King).
One of my most anticipated titles in this list is the new release from Alyssa Cole One of Us Knows, since I haven’t stopped thinking about her last thriller (When No One is Watching) which I read way back in 2020. Of course I’m jazzed for Riley Sager’s next release Middle of the Night which features his first male main character as the primary point of view. Lastly, I’m dying to get my hands on Yangze Choo’s 2024 release The Fox Wife which I just know will be filled with beautiful and enriching folklore and culture that I find so transportive!
